An Interesting Dinner Situation

My time in sunny Florida is coming to an end and the weather is enforcing that.  After five sunny days here, it’s been rainy, cloudy and winday all day today.  Tomorrow morning my pilgrimage to the sunshine state ends – and quite early i must say.  Where did the time go?  I had a fun time and really did a lot while here.  Multiple shopping trips (including a 7-hour all-nighter), the beach, visits with a friend and of course family, filled my vacation days.  I also gambled at a casino for the first time and went to Ikea for the first time too.  Totally fun!  And i won $40.00.  Sweetness!  You can’t ask for any more than that.

Friday night, my dad wanted to have “crab fest” and he picked up snow crab claws on the way home from work.  We also had chorizo sausage on the grill, which ended up being a little flame-broiled, and potato cakes from left-over mashed potatoes from Thanksgiving dinner.  The crab claws were the most unique.  I was timid at first because my step-mom told me the way they get them and anything to do with harming animals is not what i want to hear.  But of course, i had to try them for the experience, especially after i lined the table with brown paper bags.  It was a fun way to get rid of any built up anger or frustration, as we had to use a lot of strength to break through the shell.  Juice was flying everywhere.  Pieces of shell were flying everywhere.  Sounds so appealing doesn’t it?  It was an experience to say the least.

So, my trip comes to a close and i guess i’ll be back to the norm tomorrow evening and definately Tuesday.  I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving and a great start to the holiday season.

Oh, Sweet World – i’m packin’ up….
